I'm Ms. Donna and I have lived in the Venice/Engelwood area for over 45 years. I am originally from Buffalo, NY.
My husband and I have been married for over 30 years and we have two children; Daniel and Nick. Both of our sons live locally. I have three grandchildren who are my world.
I love boating, the beach, going to the movies and reading.
I started working here in 1992. I have worked with every age group but have been with VPK since 2005. VPK is my favorite age to teach. The children learn so much and it is very exciting to see them grow as they prepare for Kindergarten. Thank you for sharing your children with us. Let the learning begin!
Hello! My name is Ms. Robbie. I have been teaching VPK for 19 years and have been in the childcare business for 26.
I moved here from Acworth, Ga in 2014 with my family. I am married to the love of my life and have two adult children and one grandchild. Our daughter Tori and grandchild Aiden live in Texas. Our son Trevor graduated from Lemon Bay in 2017 and currently works for T-Mobile. He is studying to become a Property Appraiser.
Some of my interest and hobbies are reading, boating, swimming, and gardening. I enjoy these most when I am doing them with family.
VPK is my favorite age to teach because I love to be a part of the transition and learning experience this age goes through in just one school year.
HI! I’m Mrs. Lacey
Teaching has been a very strong passion of mine! I am very thrilled to be able to work alongside you with your child to encourage growth and strengthen many core values. This year is full of lots of fun and learning. I thought you would like to know a little about me.
I am married to my high school sweet heart, Carlos. We have one daughter together (Brielle) who also attends Foundations and 3 pets. They take up majority of my free time but some of my hobbies include, baking, road trips and going to theme parks with my best friends.
I was born and raised in FL but have only lived locally for 5 years, which is when I fell in love with learning. I graduated in 2016 and perused my CDA in February of 2019.
This is my 5th year of early child care, but my 1st year teaching VPK. I absolutely love teaching this age group because this is such an important time in their growth, academically and socially. My intentions are to purvey my excitement for all of my lessons so the children are equally excited about learning. The possibilities are endless with each child!
A few of my favorites:
Food: Mexican, Italian
Drink: Sweet Tea or Coke Cola
Book: Anything from Ellen Hopkins
Hello, my name is Alondra and I am happy to be introducing myself as the new teaching assistant for the Penguin and Sea Turtle VPK classes.
I am CPR and First Aid certified and I continuously take classes through DCF in order to further my knowledge in Early Childhood Education.
I am excited to be able to assist the teachers here and help them with the growth and development of each of the VPK students. I hope to be able to assist the teachers in creating exciting projects that will keep the children engaged and interested in learning all while having fun.
A little bit of information about me. My family is from Belize so I grew up in a Spanish speaking household. My family includes my parents, 3 older brothers, two younger sisters, three dogs, and one bearded dragon whom I spend most of my time with.
I have lived in North Port most of my life except for a two year adventure to Washington state right out of high school. I moved back to Florida for the warmth, sunshine and the fact that I loved living here.
I have been in the Early Childhood field for 38 years. I have been married for 26 years. I have one daughter and a grandson named Parker. I have my CDA National credential and plan to continue my professional development in this field. My passion is working with two year olds. I love watching them grow and thrive in a warm, nurturing environment; preparing them to become independent thinkers. I'm excited to start a new chapter with older children and to learn where our adventures will lead us!
